What Is Vidtel?

Vidtel is a cloud-based service provider, offering a hosted video conferencing service.  We started the company in 2008 as a response to the lack of video conferencing solutions suitable for the small-medium enterprise.  Although high-end telepresence was (and still is) growing quickly, serving the needs of the large enterprise, at least for internal video conferencing, only the largest companies could afford to spend $100,000s to millions of dollars on these systems. High-quality B2B video conferencing has been prohibitive due to technical and business barriers (e.g., lack of interoperability between products, current high costs to connect enterprises and a lack of a 3rd party to provide a trusted, secure connection between different enterprises).

This is where Vidtel comes in. We are creating the first open video conferencing network to allow B2B connectivity using any standard video conferencing device (e.g., Cisco/Tandberg, Polycom, LifeSize, Sony).

The network we are building will enable a diverse set of business-grade video endpoints to interoperate between businesses worldwide. Our solution includes a free, standards-based video calling address and it connects one video conferencing enterprise to another, anywhere in the world.
